Description: Photos show views of the granite memorial with a bronze plaque listing Wakefield's firefighters who have died. The monument is located near the chapel at the entrance to Lakeside Cemetery on North Avenue. Photos taken at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007.
"Facing the enemy - In tribute to the Wakefield fire fighters who have served and to those who have made the supreme sacrifice." - text from east (front) side of monument.
Two stones set in the ground bear the inscriptions "Malcolm W. Burke, PFC U.S. Army, World War II, 1925-1979" and "Charles W. Frost 'Charlie' Jan. 22, 1914 - June 23, 1999".
