Title: Coloring Room
Issue Date: 30-Jan-2008
Abstract: Coloring Room at the Boston Mat Leather Factory, Peabody, Massachusetts, 1918. In ball point pen is the notation, Coloring Room. This appears to be a posed photo of four men at work. To the left is a ladder leaning against a post. Beside it is a wooden barrel with metal hoops on its side. Behind the post almost in the center of the photo is a man wearing a hat and a vest. On the other side of some wheels and pulleys and machinery is another man, wearing glasses, vest and pants, appearing more like an office worker than a factory worker. The man behind him wears work overalls and stands with his hand on his hip. The man on the viewer's right might be sitting. Before him is a pile of hides.
